How to install Linux on an HP Pavilion dv4, dv5, dv6, dv7 laptop with AMD/ATI chipsets and an HP G60 - G70 laptop

Here are two launchpad groups for people interested in using Linux for the HP Pavilion dvxz line and the HP G60 and G70 line of laptops:

• HP Pavilion dvxz and Linux (dv4z, dv5z, dv7x, Compaq-CQ4x) -- 15
• HP G60/G70 and Linux -- 14
• Toshiba Satellite X355 and Linux (soon)

Both groups now have mailing lists and a doodle poll to see how far is people going onto installing Linux. Have a look at the launchpad pages, that contains links to the installation instructions and recipes to solve any pending issue with graphics, power management, sound, networking, touchpads/mice, etc.
